STAFF

Paul Hebblethwaite | Art and Shelter was founded in 2008 by Paul Hebblethwaite. Born in Johannesburg South Africa, Paul immigrated to the United States from Belgium and initially lived in St. Louis Missouri. After graduating from Purdue University’s art program, he completed a year of service with the Mennonite Voluntary Service in Fresno California. The service year placement was at Poverello House, a homeless access center founded by Lay Franciscans. After completing the Mennonite Voluntary Service program Paul Hebblethwaite has worked with the United Way of Fresno County, Project ACHIEVE, and The Salvation Army in Glendale and Los Angeles.

Paul Hebblethwaite currently serves as Executive Director of The Salvation Army Alegria, a comprehensive housing program for homeless families affected by HIV/AIDS. Located in Downtown Los Angeles and the neighborhood of Silver Lake, Alegria’s two facilities serve 62 families with housing, case management, child development services, and medical support.

Paul Hebblethwaite is a graduate of Purdue University with a BA in Photography and Regis University with a Masters in Nonprofit Management.
